This policy explains what personal information CITYIN3D collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to cityin3d.com, to orders placed there and to the messages you send us.

Who we are
CITYIN3D is operated by Jeremy Maugein, in Japan: Shukugawa Gardens 205, Minamikoshikiiwacho, Nishinomiya, Hyōgo 662-0075, Japan. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us its controller. You can reach us at info@cityin3d.com.

What we collect
When you order: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and what you ordered. Payments are handled by our payment providers; we never see or keep your full card number.
When you write to us, through the contact form, the chat or by email: your name, your contact details and what you send. For a tailor-made or bespoke piece, this can include addresses, plans, photographs or files about the place to be made.
When you sign up for our newsletter: your email address.
When you sign in to your account: the email address you use and your order history.
When you browse the site: information about your device and browser, your approximate location from your IP address and the pages you visit, collected with cookies and similar technologies.
When you use On your wall in the format Studio, the photograph you choose stays on your device. It is not sent to us.

Why we use it
To make, ship and support your order, including returns and after-sales care (contract).
To answer your messages and carry out tailor-made and bespoke projects (contract, or the steps before one).
To send our newsletter, if you asked for it; every email has a link to unsubscribe (consent).
To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and understand how the site is used, so we can improve it (legitimate interest).
To show and measure advertising, only where you allow it in the cookie banner (consent).
To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
The words in brackets are the legal bases under the EU and UK data protection rules (GDPR).

Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the store, and only what each one needs:
Shopify, our store platform, for the site, checkout, customer accounts, the chat and our records.
Our payment providers: Shopify Payments and its card processors, and PayPal.
Our carriers: Yamato Transport in Japan, and UPS and DHL outside Japan, who receive your name, delivery address and phone number, and for customs, what the parcel contains.
Mailchimp, for the newsletter.
Trustpilot, which receives your name, email address and order reference so it can invite you to review your order.
Google, for site analytics and advertising, where you allow it.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for advertising, where you allow it.
Public authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some advertising cookies may count as selling or sharing under laws such as California's. You can opt out on Your Privacy Choices, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser.

Where it is processed
These companies process personal information in several countries, including Japan, Canada, the United States, Singapore and member states of the European Union. Where the GDPR applies, transfers outside the EU and the UK rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, put in place by those companies.

Cookies
Some cookies are needed for the store to work: your cart, checkout and sign-in. Others measure visits or support advertising; where the law requires it, we use them only with your consent, which you give or refuse in the cookie banner and can change at any time. You can also block cookies in your browser, though the store may then not work fully. Shopify lists its cookies at shopify.com/legal/cookies.

How long we keep it
Order records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Messages and project files: while we work together and afterwards, so we can make a matching piece later. We delete them when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw your consent. Write to us at info@cityin3d.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we answer within the time the law sets. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Japan, the Personal Information Protection Commission.

Security
We protect personal information through the security of the companies above and by limiting access to what each task needs. No system is perfectly secure, so please never send card numbers or passwords by email.

Children
The site is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us theirs, write to us and we will delete it.

For customers in Japan
We handle personal information in line with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, for the purposes listed under "Why we use it". We entrust it to the companies listed under "Who we share it with". Some of them are outside Japan, in countries including Canada, the United States and Singapore, and in the European Union. The Personal Information Protection Commission publishes information on those countries' rules at ppc.go.jp. On request, we tell you more about the measures these companies take.
Our safety measures: we set rules for handling personal data; only the people who need it for their work can access it; our devices and accounts are protected by passwords; and we choose companies that protect personal data and are bound to us by contract.
To ask us to disclose, correct, stop using or delete your personal data, or to ask about these measures, write to us at info@cityin3d.com.

Changes
We update this policy when our practices or the law change, and show the date of the last update at the top.
